Every year, Special Olympics International holds a day of awareness all over the world to stop the use of the word ‘retard’. Northwestern to Benefit Special Olympics supports the campaign on campus by encouraging students to pledge not to use the word, and hosting a rally/discussion. We also partner with different organizations like Best Buddies, AMASE, Autism Speaks, and more to increase outreach.
